She got a great check up!!! Her liver is down big time! Scans are scheduled for the 1st week of January.

Port is outta here!!

We had her scan yesterday, everything went soooo well and quickly. After we got home the doc called. The 2nd scan confirmed it. We made the appointment to get her port out! We are sooo happy!!!

Port operation: Oct 20, we can't wait!

This Halloween is going to be amazing its her parents favorite holiday and now we get to celebrate her health!

some great news about the scan last friday

The cancer is still there but leaving her body. There is even less of it since the last scan. We are soooo happy!!!!

The doc thinks the CT Scan will be good news too, then we get that port out of her!

Scans all set

Her MIBG is Oct 1st at 1pm. The Cat Scan is Oct 7th at 9am.

I hope the 2% of the cancer is all gone or if its still there going away. The doc said her liver is still going down, these scans will tell more about her liver too. We will also see if we can have her port removed.

doc apt went great today!

She is doing great, the liver is still going down. Even though she was in a bad mood cause of teething the doc still got a smile out of her.

She has her scans set up for the 1st week of October then we will see if it is still going away, how her liver is doing and if we can take out the port.

She is growing so quickly gained a pound and grew a few inches too! We are so happy even though she's being a lil diva today.

Everyone had a great time at her party, and so did she. I wish I took more pictures but I was just too busy. Here are some we took. Thank you everyone that came it truly meant a great deal to us. The gifts are amazing, she is playing with all of them, thank you so much everyone!

1st birthday morning, presents!!!!!!!!!

We are off to the aquarium today, since its crazy hot out and the zoo would be a bad idea.

She had a huge breakfast with waffles and loves her Elmo chair and other gifts she got.

happy about the news

done and done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO SURGERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the tumor has shrunk 98% and is too tiny to remove. They will just observe it. She is off her meds except for the one she takes on weekends. That is it, she is done with everything.

We want to thank everyone that helped us through this trying time.

We are sooo happy, her HUGE Birthday party is 7/31/10 @ 2pm, all our welcome to help us celebrate she kicked cancer's ass and turned one.

The scans are done and they all went so smoothly. She is tired though. We still have no word on the surgery or the complete results of the scans. While waiting for the MIBG the doc stopped in to tell us the CT Scan looked promising. We just hope the jerk cancer is dead and gone.

We are figuring that she might have the surgery this week, we are pretty much waiting by the phone.

Hopefully great news to follow...

scans tomorrow

Scans start tomorrow. We leave the house tomorrow at 730 am, her mediport is accessed at 9am, 1030am is her scan. She has to drink that contrast, I just hope she likes apple juice cause that all she can have for 6 hours.

I hope we have some good / great news for the weekend, we could really use it.

We had a great time this weekend, sat in and watch some cool storms go by yesterday and simply did nothing but chill.

Went to the doc yesterday. It was nice just me and her. She did great. She has to do the shots all weekend though :(

There is a change in her scans:

Tuesday - checkup - make sure those counts are still good.

Thursday - get there at 9am, she will be accessed, get her Cat Scan and the injection for the MIBG Scan

Friday - MIBG

Over the weekend we should know something, the Doc said he would call us at home. Greg and I are nervous wrecks and the 3 of us are going to stay in for the weekend for some good family time before the hellish weeks begin.

We are figuring she might be in the hospital for her 1st birthday but we can't be sure until the results come back and they know what kind of surgery they have to do.

On the good note, she is crawling alot and doing well overall. Her parents....nervous wrecks trying to be strong for this lil one.

doc visit today

The doc visit went good today. Eating has been a little down lately and she got sick this morning. We gave her some medication and it seemed to help for a bit. She is on her shots till Friday then another appointment with the Doctor just to rule out that she does not need a transfusion. Thats always hanging there after her chemo.

Scans are:

7/15 - shot for mibg scan
7/16 - mibg scan - that is the one that will show the docs if the cancer is dead or still active, lets hope this sucker is dead.

7/19 - cat scan

7/23 - hearing test

We think that the surgery will be after her birthday, we hope anyway.

4th of July Pics

We had a lot of fun, she got to swim and play some music for everyone.

cycle 8 done!

Cycle 8 was done on Thursday, it was a long day but we spoke to her doctor. He thinks this is it! Also her port might come out either after her surgery or during. How great is that! We are sooo happy with this news, she is dealing with her chemo like a lil superstar. Although she still needs her last round of shots and we are keeping a close eye on her if she needs a transfusion that still could happen. Her scans are being scheduled the week before her 1st bday.

We are just laying back this weekend, Monday bbq at Granparents Kulicks house with her first dip in a pool.

Eating like a lil horse, many people don't beleive me about how much she enjoys her food and dances while eating. Here is a taste of it.

Her scans are trying to be scheduled for the week of her 1st bday, things are moving along.

great doc visit

She did great today, no transfusion and we are scheduled for her last cycle on thursday. woo hoo!!!!

She does have some brusies on her forhead from crawling..although maybe they are horns? he he. Our friend mike altered a picture for us, we thought it was funny.

no tranfusion today yay!!! we are so happy, although she has an appointment on thursday just to make sure her counts are going up as they are supposed to.

she's doing better

The last few days she hasn't felt well, but today we think she is better.

She has a 2nd tooth so it could be most of the pain she has gone through, on top of everything else.

We are almost celebrating Greg's first Father's day. I got her a hat for the occassion:



and she now does what we call a Zombie Crawl. She is almost there.

Fingers Crossed

We got back from the docs today. She might need a transfusion on Monday. Her hemoglobin is low. They are scared because she is 7 days into cycle 7 and her counts get low now. Although the good news: the doc is shocked she hasn't had a transfusion so far. She is a strong lil baby.

We find out on Monday around 1pm, crossing fingers she will not need one. That is a whole list of new worries for our family.

Cycle 7 all done

She is doing fantastic. We finished cycle 7 on friday. So far she is great. We are still giving her shots to keep her counts up and she is getting used to them, no real crying when i give them to her, thank god! This morning we woke up to her sitting up in her crib, thank god we lowered the crib just in time.

She has her first tooth which seems to be the only thing bothering her. This kid amazes us constantly. All the stuff she has gone through: chemo, surgery and just overall discomfort from everything, the only thing that she has complained about is her tooth coming in.

Since her counts are up because of the shots, we are taking her to a festival today with a petting zoo. She won't be able to pet anything but wow will she love it!! Pretty soon I will be posting about how she is done with everything.

The next month she has Cycle 8 and then surgery.

Just came back from a long doc appointment. Her counts are low so we are going to do the shots till Thursday and see the doc again. Oh well at least we know now. Otherwise she is just fine, gaining weight and very close to crawling.

She had two doc visits this week, one with her main doctor and the other with the surgeon. So far everything is fine, her scars healed well and she is doing great!

We also have a tooth. She has been biting everything in sight, cats included.

Long Weekend over

We finally got home by 7pm Friday night all 3 of us passed out.

Saturday she didn't do well with vomitting and constipation. Also teething my poor lil girl.

Today she is great! We are taking it very easy this week and later we will watch Daddy's Star Wars Series, she loves the music.

home with a new port

we are home. Day started at 4am finished at 1pm. Everything went so smoothly today. I woke her up at 345 am and got the biggest smile from her and she hardly cried all day. What a lil trooper. We are all very tired she has been sleeping / playing since we got home. Tomorrow should be alot better with her with plenty of fussing from mommy :)

Friday is an all day with chemo, starting early as well.

She had her doctor appointment yesterday, she is doing great and her counts are good too so the shots are doing their job.

Wednesday is her surgery to replace her mediport and a full day of chemo on friday. We will be happy when this week is over and done with.

I'm asleep / I'm awake game

one heck of a night but she's fine

our long night started at 7pm. Through out the night she was nauseous, vomitting and just plain irritiable. She finally went to sleep by 3am and woek up happy. The lil trooper. Her appetitie is back and she is playing so we are hoping its just from the chemo and not from the shots or the exposed mediport.

Today we have one of her favoriate nurses coming to give her the shot for her counts. We have a late docs visit about the surgery to replace/ fix her port tomorrow. I am definately keeping a close eye on her today.

2010-05-05

We will find out friday about surgery, we meet w/ the surgeon. Ugh, so sorry this happened but very happy she is growing.

Her today, she is in a great mood. We are about to go outside for a bit. This is the outfit she picked herself :)

darn it!

woke up this morning w/ a spec of catherine's mediport staring up at me. Thank god she has a doctor's appointment today. She feels no pain at all but I am packing like we might be admitted today. Unfortunately surgery is probably necessary. Kinda thought it was healing but it might have been my wishful eyes seeing it.

Her shots are doing well. Greg and I have done it with nurses here. I will be the person doing it so I am getting better at it. Sucks to give your daughter a shot each day but she needs this.

Hopefully next post will be from home after the doctor's visit.

cats & drugs

we felt bad for the cats, we got them a brand new scratcher w/ a bag of cat nip. Greg left the cat nip on the dinning room table. We woke up this morning to a dinning room full of cat nip and 3 very high cats w/ drugs all over them.

Her mediport was acting up and she had to have an IV put in for the last round today. It went so smoothly. Those nurses put that IV in within a few minutes (thank god). We are letting it heal for a bit as per the surgeon that put the mediport in. Hopefully we wont need surgery to fix it.

Her shots start tomorrow we are having a nurse come by to help us do it. Not looking forward to that at all. But she is in a great mood today and looking forward to auntie gigi's party tomorrow.

lesson learned.

Don't give her a biscuit first thing in the morning.
